I don't think my magazine really has a unique selling point. In hind sight I think I would have made a unique selling point in order to make the magazine standout compared to other magazines in my genre.
I used the mise-en-scene in my genre to communicate particular ideas to my audience. Some of the fonts used such as Base 02 was a very rough, graffiti style font in order to convey the rough nature of the some of the music in the genre. I didn't really use any props in my magazine however I feel that it might have been a good idea to include some props like a guitar to better represent the genre. With the costume, I tried to conform to the conventions in order to convey my magazine is of the reggae genre. However it was needed to be made clearer with the front cover due to the fact that the model in the double page spread subverts heavily from the genre conventions. I had my front cover model wearing a do-rag, headphones, a vest and sunglasses as it was more representative of the genre. I was toying with the idea of using some reggae language in my magazine but I had deemed it inappropriate due to my audience being based in the UK they may not understand somethings. However I wanted to convey that magazine was informal and relaxed so I tried to keep a very conversational tone when writing.
